WHAT WE LOVE...

This lavish guest house was once the home of a celebrated 19th-century Dutch artist and now offers two luxurious suites adorned with sumptuous fabrics, the highest quality antiques, stained glass windows, stuccoed ceilings and chandeliers. That's not to say there aren't 21st-century comforts like flat screen TVs and Nespresso machines, and guests are treated to the most delicious champagne breakfasts. Although Breitner House is located out of the centre in the pleasant and attractive residential area of Amsterdam East, numerous trams are nearby to whisk you to other corners of the city, and there are a number of top sights nearby, including Artis Zoo, the Rembrandt House, Hortus Botanicus and the Jewish Historical Museum.
