Escape to the New Forest at The Montagu Arms
If you're looking for the perfect English country break, The Montagu Arms has everything you could wish for. This exemplary country house hotel is tucked away in a quiet corner of the New Forest and has its own timeless English garden.
The hotel is rightly proud of its excellent fine dining restaurant, The Terrace, where you'll find dishes made with produce from the surrounding coast and countryside and vegetables picked from the hotel's own kitchen garden. Or there's Monty's Inn, the hotel's pub, a real neighbourhood gem where you can tuck into classic British pub fare and sample real ales from a local brewery. You'll get a £50pp dining allowance per day which you can use in either restaurant.
There's plenty to do in the local area and our offer includes a complimentary ticket to either Exbury Gardens or Beaulieu National Motor Museum.
You'll be a short drive from Exbury Gardens, a delightful collection of landscaped herbaceous, woodland, and wildflower gardens, which you can glide through on a narrow-gauge steam railway, The Rhododendron Line.
Petrolheads, or anyone who appreciates classic design, will enjoy a trip to the nearby Beaulieu National Motor Museum, home to a world-famous collection of over 280 vehicles and motoring memorabilia, from legendary Formula One cars to Land Speed Record-breakers.
For an extra touch of indulgence, you can make use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and gym at the stylish SenSpa at nearby sister hotel, Careys Manor - the ideal way to round off a truly relaxing getaway.

The hotel suits walkers and watersports enthusiasts who want to explore the forest and the river. We loved the wood-panelling in the Terrace restaurant which dates back to the 19th-century.

Complimentary newspapers are laid out in reception. Pets are allowed in selected rooms and areas, including the lounge, conservatory and Monty's pub, but not the Terrace restaurant.

The menu states where all the ingredients are sourced, including game from the Beaulieu estate. We recommend the South Coast sea bass, served with a seaweed potato puree and rich shellfish reduction.

Monty's Inn: country pub, serving traditional fare. Dishes include fish and chips, burger and lamb shoulder. Open daily for lunch and dinner.
