WHAT WE LOVE...
Housed in an expertly renovated elegant mansion dating from the 1880s, this supremely comfortable boutique hotel located by a gorgeous quiet square in Palma's Old Town is peppered with characterful original features such as frescoed ceilings, moldings and balconies, spiced up with a great contemporary art collection. The warm interior design features chic furnishings. Part of the exclusive Small Hotels of the World Association, it has a lovely roof terrace overlooking the square's beautiful basilica, and the city's leading attractions, including galleries, cafés and shops, can all be reached easily on foot. It also boasts a gastronomic restaurant, swish spa and gym.

The hotel attracts a sophisticated and discerning traveller, staying for both leisure and business. The hotel's owners are avid international art collectors and the hotel has numerous artworks, mainly from Catalan and Mallorcan artists, including examples by Josep Riera i Aragó and Guillem Nadal, and Majorcan photographer Bárbara Vidal.

The Sant Francesc Suite has frescoed ceilings and a private French balcony with views of the Old Town. We love the little extras like fresh flowers, a waterproof bag for wet swimwear and welcome macarons.

Food & Drink
There's an excellent breakfast, including a lovely Bircher muesli, five good local cheeses, and the island's ensaïmada pastries. Quadrat's red prawn carpaccio with fried artichoke and shellfish hollandaise had remarkable flavours and textures, and an intense vegetable sauce.
Quadrat: Mediterranean cuisine. Dishes include braised octopus. Open Thursday-Saturday for dinner from 7-10:30 pm. Mains from €22.
Singular Rooftop: Dine on a selection of dishes, from Paella and burgers on the terrace. Open daily. Mains from €17.
