St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, London
A quirky five-star hotel in one of London's most famous buildings, the 245 rooms and suites sit behind the neo-gothic facade that Sir George Gilbert Scott designed for the Midland Grand hotel in 1873. The ideal hotel for trainspotters, some rooms overlook the St Pancras Eurostar terminal and a special "suite to seat" service will transport you and your luggage seamlessly through to the trains if you have a departure to Paris or Brussels the next day. Rooms in the newer wing have mid-century elegance, while the chamber suites are full of Victorian splendour with vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows. Cocktails and afternoon teas are served in The Hansom by reception, while you can enjoy a crowd-pleasing menu in the 'grammable Booking Office 1869.
Windows in the hotel look over the Eurostar terminal and you can watch the trains coming and going.
The British Library is just around the corner, whilst the gorgeous Regents Park is a 20 minute walk away.
By car: around 2 hours from Brighton, 2 hours 30 mins from Bristol and Birmingam, and 4 hours from Manchester.
By train: there are direct trains to St Pancras from Brighton (1 hour 15 minutes), Nottingham (1 hour 45 minutes) and Sheffield (2 hours 10 minutes). trainline.com

The hotel is perfect for couples about to set off on a Eurostar trip to Europe. We love the cathedrelesque windows and ceiling-high palm trees in the Booking Office 1869 restaurant.

The Gilbert Scott suite is an impressive 150m² with authentic Victorian wallpaper and a dining table for 8 guests. Our favourite aspect is the incredibly high ceilings of the chamber suites.
