WHAT WE LOVE...

If your budget doesn't quite stretch to five star, this plush four-star hotel may do the trick. Located in the heart of the Velabro neighbourhood, it is pretty central and near a number of key sights but pleasingly away from the tourist hordes. There are a number of bedroom categories, all supremely comfortable, and you can enjoy a game of snooker in the billiards room, a movie in the screening room, or soak up the impressive views from the rooftop restaurant. There's also an outdoor courtyard lounge and a tea room, and if you've had a too-lazy, indulgent day, there's a gym with Technogym equipment and a Turkish steam bath at your disposal.
