WHAT WE LOVE...

Palazzo Avino is set in a stunning former palace in the tiny village of Ravello, which is 1,000 feet above sea level and overlooks the Amalfi Coast. The Palazzo, nicknamed the 'Pink Palace', was built in the 12th century and converted to a deluxe five-star hotel in 1997, and it has been named one of the best hotels in the world. There are amazing sea views from many rooms, and from the outdoor terraces and rooftop. The hotel has a one-Michelin-star restaurant and also has a private beach club on the coast, in the village of Marmorata. Ravello is extremely touristy in high season, and popular for weddings (which you may hear from gardens of neighbouring properties), but the hotel is in a quiet spot.

THE DETAILS

Location

We love the hotel's outdoor gardens, terraces and pool, with incredible views down over the Amalfi coast.

By plane: there are direct flights to Naples from London (2 hours 35 mins) and Manchester (2 hours 55 mins) . The hotel is then one hour's drive from the airport.

Style & Character

People who love luxury, style and design will love this place. The area and hotel is incredibly romantic so it's popular for honeymooners, proposals and small wedding parties. The gorgeous style of the hotel is special - it has been really tastefully decorated by the Avino sisters, who run the hotel.

Service & Facilities

We love the outdoor heated pool - watching the sunset from the infinity hydropool on the rooftop is total bliss after a day of exploring.

The list of 100 martinis and 65 different martini cocktails to choose from in the stylish Caffé dell'Arte bar is truly impressive. The dinner is fantastic, right down to small details like the amuse bouche with fennel cream and coffee powder; the amazing selection of breads, and the sommelier's fantastic wine pairings.
