WHAT WE LOVE...

Spread out over three butterscotch Grade II-listed townhouses, this delightful boutique hotel in the heart of Stow-on-the-Wold is hip and funky, exuding a youthful vibe. Indigo blue velvet sofas and low hanging bulbs marry with original oakwood ceiling beams and bare stone walls. Rooms are snug and cosy, with herringbone carpets and wood accents. They're enlivened with bright pops of colour, while vintage touches (rotary dial phone; low-slung sofas) lend a pinch of fun. At the restaurant, both hotel guests and those in the know tuck into excellent modern British dishes prepared using locally sourced ingredients. Sip on a coffee at the little café-cum-bar, complete with fireplace and small library, or, if you're after something stronger, head to the popular cocktail bar where expert mixologists shake up great drinks.

There's a good selection of wines, too.
