This is a treat of a country house hotel, with an outstanding fine dining restaurant (it was awarded two Michelin stars in 2019), an exquisite garden and a first-class spa. It has obvious appeal to foodies and garden enthusiasts, and regulars also head here for the peace and grown-up atmosphere. Expect sunny terraces and long lawns; crackling fires and flamboyant flower arrangements. Whatley Manor has become one of the region's top luxury hotels - but be prepared for the prices to match.

Set by rolling fields, on the eastern edge of the Cotswolds near Malmesbury, you'll enter Whatley Manor through a walled courtyard which conjures the sense of stepping into another world.

Sitting in 12-acres of countryside, Whatley Manor is a short drive from the B4040 and close to the picturesque village of Easton Grey.
By car: The hotel is around two hours' drive from London or 45 minutes from Bristol. There is free parking for guests. After arriving on the B4040, travel for around one mile before turning into the Whatley Manor driveway.
By train: London Paddington to Chippenham takes 1 hour 10 mins. A taxi transfer from the station takes 25 minutes.
