WHAT WE LOVE...

Sitting right on the border between England and Wales, the Grosvenor Pulford is part of Nelson Hotels, a small family-owned group that also runs three popular Cheshire gastropubs. On the outside, all looks very traditional but step inside reception and things get altogether more unexpected - there's a glam feel to the public spaces, an Art Deco vibe in the main restaurant and the spa facilities include a lovely Asian-inspired sensory garden filled with water features. That spa is one of the hotel's main attractions but even if you're not here for full-on pampering there are other ways to relax at the end of a day's sightseeing, with a good-sized pool, attractive lawned areas and the choice of two restaurants.

Style & Character

It's a popular choice for spa breaks, romantic weekends, wedding celebrations and special occasion dinners in the Palm Court restaurant. Modern extensions have been added, but care's been taken care to blend them in with the original building, with patterned brickwork and sympathetic planting.

Service & Facilities

The gardens are lovely: spa guests can relax in a serene Asian-inspired garden; others enjoy a lawned area set around a water lily-topped pond. Dogs get a bed, bowl and treats in the room and there's a pet-friendly area in the bar, plus a menu of canine dinner options.
