WHAT WE LOVE...
This mid-18th century grand house has a very impressive pedigree. Built for the third Duke of Marlborough as a hunting lodge and later used as a hospital for army officers, with visitors including Queen Victoria, its wonderful parkland was landscaped by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown. After six years of renovations it opened in 2019 as The Langley Hotel, with 20 rooms and a further 21 at the 18th century Brew House in its grounds. However, the refurb was so extensive that it now looks like a brand new replica of an historic building, with bedrooms that though luxurious could be anywhere in the world, and features like fake books lining the bar's walls and copies of old masters that are super-bright. You'll have a luxurious stay, the gardens are lovely to stroll in and it's convenient for Heathrow. The spa and gym are impressive.

We loved having the huge, beautiful grounds on the doorstep.
Stroll around Langley Park and see the Temple Gardens. It's a 20-minute drive south to Windsor Castle.
By car: an hour from London, 1 hour 15 minutes from Oxford and under 2 hours from Bristol and Birmingham. Free parking on-site.
By train: London Paddington to Slough takes 30 minutes. The hotel is a 12-minute drive from the station. thetrainline.com
Style & Character
There seems to be quite an international set with deep wallets who come here, as evidenced by the multinational crowd in the bar and the Porsche, Bentley and Tesla we saw parked outside. The hotel is popular for celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. The original mosaic-tiled floor in the lobby is beautiful.

Rooms
Our Junior Suite had a very comfortable king size bed, sofa and coffee table, with an adjoining grey and white marble shower room with a walk-in shower. A pretty round window had lovely views looking out to the expanse of the grounds. We loved the luxury and comfort.

Enjoy breakfast overlooking the magnificent grounds. The blueberry pancakes with maple syrup are tasty.

Drawing Room: ornate lounge, comfy sofas. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.
Churchill Bar: intimate bar and lounge, serving light bites and sandwiches. Open daily, 8-1am.
