WHAT WE LOVE...
Overlooking the Salobrar de Campos nature reserve in the south east of Mallorca, this adults-only hotel housed in an atmospheric 19th-century country property is centred around an ancient thermal spring, used since Roman times. Now a luxurious spa with private baths where you can absorb the mineral-rich, health-beneficial waters, there's also a natural steam room powered by the hot waters, a Norwegian sauna, ice shower, indoor pool and fitness centre. The hotel itself is situated within delightful grounds with two outdoor pools and striking sculptures, with the Es Trenc salt plains and wetlands beyond, which attract a host of local wildlife including flamingos. Guest rooms are supremely comfortable as you would expect from a high-end property and the restaurant's cuisine correspondingly impressive.

Beautiful, protected Es Trenc beach is just two miles away, or less than ten minutes' drive. It's considered one of the best beaches in the world.
Located in the southern region of Mallorca, the hotel is near the heart of Es Trenc natural park, overlooking the salt flats of Es Salobrar.

Style & Character
This hotel is overwhelmingly popular with middle-aged couples - exemplified by the restaurant's playlist, with the likes of ABBA and The Stylistics, to satisfy their core audience. We loved the attractive gardens featuring Mediterranean plants, including lawns, pools, wildflower gardens, stone pathways, a maze and striking sculptures by local artist Joan Bennassar.

Room 7 has a couple of lovely artworks by Mallorcan artist Maria Morell Oliver, a comfy bed, desk, armchair and little patio area looking out onto one of the two outdoor pools. The bright, minimalist spaces create a relaxing vibe.

Food & Drink
Dishes are intricate and high culinary standards are on display here; the chocolate ganache, with banana and passion fruit cream, cinnamon crumble, cream ice cream and grated tonka bean, is not your normal pudding. The food is great here - even the bread and olive oil at dinner - and affordable; it's deliciously crusty and served with the best vivid green local olive oil.
